Since we have been involved in family and wedding photography, we have always wanted to photograph a couple or a wedding abroad.
The desire of every wedding photographer who does their work with passion and heart is for the couples they work with to be more than just clients. We wish for couples to treat us as important memory creators and moment catchers. We hope they choose us because they simply fall in love with our photos, our work, enthusiasm, growth, and connect with us personally. From the very beginning, Ana and I have strived to have a story, technical perfection, the romance of the couple, and everything that adds that “X” factor in our photos. Additionally, we want to create fairy-tale engagement photos for every couple that embody their uniqueness and story. For us, engagement photos are much more than just some photos taken quickly in a meadow behind the house. They are a way for us to get to know the couple, an opportunity for creative expression, and a means of creating priceless memories. Ana and Matej secured their date more than a year ago. Their lives are moving rapidly in London, and Ana (by the way, the bride-to-be shares the same name as my better half and the photographer at Večni trenutek, just to avoid confusion) and I didn’t hesitate long to ask, “Would you like us to come to London to photograph you?” We will never forget Ana and Matej’s enthusiastic reaction, and that’s how it all began! After photographing in Slovenia (where we still capture most wedding days), Croatia, and Italy, England (London) is now added to the list.

Our story begins on our home turf
Sometimes we also record videos, and to start this journey and the first day in London, we recorded a VLOG. The first day was free since it was a regular working day, followed by the weekend, and Monday was a national holiday called “Bank holiday.” The VLOG may not be of the best quality and looks like it was filmed with a calculator. The reason for this is that we invested all our money in professional photo equipment to capture even better, sharper, and faster photos, ensuring you, dear couples, a higher quality service. We ask for your understanding in advance.
Saturday followed, and we decided to go to Cambridge for the first day of our photo shoot. At three in the afternoon, full of expectations, we were already sitting on the train to Cambridge. Cambridge is a fascinating city full of faculties of the University of Cambridge. Full of interesting architecture, parks (most of which are private, closed, and intended for faculty students), and historical scenery that we are used to from Harry Potter movies. We started photographing in front of the Fitzwilliam Museum, which is made in classic English style. The sun was high in the sky, meaning the sunset was still a while away. Since we love architecture, we looked for interesting buildings, arches, and details in the city.

Several faculties have open access for visitors. Apparently, we hit the period of exam preparation, which unfortunately meant limited access for visitors. Because Luka wouldn’t be Luka and because those who spare their tongues starve, we secured entry to the most restricted parts of various faculties with a polite request and smiles on our faces.

In search of the perfect location for sunset photography, we headed to a park in the Guernsey area. We found that the concept of a park in England is intended for picnics, children’s entertainment, and, above all, relaxation in nature. The number of people on one of the rare sunny and warm days was indescribable. We decided to find a more intimate location.

This time luck really smiled at us because after about 20 minutes, we noticed a beautiful, well-kept, spacious park with blooming cherry blossoms (yes, nature in England is still behind), but it was closed to the public with high iron gates and a fence. Just when we were convinced of failure, a satisfied Trinity College student walked through the gate, and Ana quickly held the door. When we realized that we only needed to press a button to exit, we quickly felt at home in the park.

We created a beautiful engagement series on the first day, and we’re glad we found this park. Let the photos speak about the first day.

Day 2

Because we were too excited about the photos from the first day, instead of lounging in the park, we started test editing some photos and, of course, creating backups. We took a short walk around the city, and then came the most quirky part of our journey. With Matej and Ana, we decided to do a so-called “Trash the Dress.”

Ana bought Holi colors and a dress for this purpose, which we completely painted in the end. Since it would be a shame not to take at least some photos among the blooming Japanese cherry blossoms, we went to Greenwich Park a little earlier.

3, 4, now, and splashing colors in the middle of one of the most visited parks began! You can imagine the surprised looks of visitors… especially on the way back.

Day 3

It was followed by the third day of our photo shoot. We decided to shoot in the center of London, and since London is crowded during the day and in the evening, we shot in the morning. We walked past the main attractions of London, over London and Tower Bridge, to the London Eye. The city quickly filled up, and if you don’t know yet, they will be renovating Big Ben until 2020, and it is currently completely covered in metal scaffolding.

We are happy and thrilled that such atypical weather awaited us, as it was the warmest Bank holiday since 1974. A bit tired after three days of rushing, we enjoyed a pleasant picnic in Greenwich Park, where the sun warmed us, and we reveled in the embrace of a cloudless sky. The time to leave came too quickly, and we found ourselves at home, where we are already preparing for the wedding season, which starts this coming Saturday and will last until October 6, 2018.
Life is made up of opportunities, and it’s up to us whether we seize the opportunity or not. Ana and I love to travel, but even more, we love creating photos in quirky and unusual locations. We welcome every idea and wish for even more. We are happy that the wedding season has started with several beautiful photo shoots, and with high expectations, we are looking forward to all the wedding days that bring unexpected, intimate, romantic, and spontaneous moments that we will capture in our way in Večni trenutek. We wonder with indescribable curiosity what the next step is in our story, which we are writing under the brand Večni trenutek.
